Orono homecoming week set for Oct. 1-6
Students at Orono High School will celebrate homecoming week Oct. 1-6 with a series of events and dress-up days.

Also this year, the district will once again hold a homecoming parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Orono baseball fields and it will end in Pesonen Stadium for a pep fest. That evening at 7 p.m., the football team will take on Mound Westonka.

Events: Homecoming pictures at noon in Norenberg Park
King and queen coronation at 1:45 p.m. in the OHS gymnasium
Oct. 2
Theme: Nerd Day
Events: Cashin Senior Symposium at 9:45 a.m. in Fenholt Auditorium
Boys’ soccer game at Holy Family at 5 p.m.
Girls’ soccer versus Holy Family at 5 p.m.
Volleyball at Mound Westonka at 7 p.m.
Oct. 3
Theme: Class Color Day
Events: Class competition from 8:35 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. (Spartan Hour) in the OHS gymnasium ($1 admission)
Powder Puff game (juniors versus seniors) at 8 p.m. in Pesonen Stadium
Oct. 4
Theme: Neon ’90s Day
Events: Cross country at Litchfield at 4 p.m.
Boys’ soccer versus Mound Westonka at 5 p.m.
Girls’ swimming and diving versus Litchfield at 6 p.m.
Volleyball at Hutchinson at 7 p.m.
Girls’ soccer versus Mound Westonka at 7 p.m.
Variety show practice at 8:30 p.m. in the OHS gymnasium
Oct. 5
Theme: Spartan Spirit Day
Events: Variety show from 8:35 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. (Spartan Hour) in the OHS gymnasium ($1 admission)
Homecoming parade at 1 p.m. (begins at Orono baseball fields and ends in Pesonen Stadium for a pep fest)
Football versus Mound Westonka at 7 p.m. in Pesonen Stadium and bonfire to follow
Oct. 6
Events: Homecoming dance from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. in the OHS gymnasium (semiformal)
