Orono football team earns homecoming win

The Spartans won their homecoming game against the Mound Westonka White Hawks and evened their season record to 3-3.
Orono shut out Mound Westonka and came away with a 28-0 victory Oct. 5. While the team earned the win, the night proved costly for the Spartans. Senior Captain Tom Wachman sustained a foot injury and his back-up junior Nick Geiger also injured his leg.
“We got out of whack offensively in the second half with Tommy and Nick going out,” Coach Jeff Weiland noted. “The good thing was the play of the defense and the special teams.”
