NSGA athletes compete well at the state gymnastics championship

The Levels 6-10 and Xcel teams from North Shore Gymnastics Association competed in the State Gymnastics Championship on March 20-22. The meet was held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. North Shore earned many individual top 10 wins and team placements.

Level 10 gymnast, Amanda Bartemio (age 17, Plymouth) had an impressive performance taking the second place all-around position with a score of 37.125. Bartemio also took third on vault (9.425), third on floor (9.325), sixth on beam (9.175) and eighth on bars (9.20). Level 9 gymnast, Breanna Murray (age 17, Minnetonka) received a third place medal on beam (9.10) and eighth on bars (8.30).

The Level 7 team finished their season with a ninth place win and a score of 108.45 and took home many individual medals. Sydney Donaldson (age 14, Maple Plain) placed ninth all around in the 14+ division with a score of 35.475. Donaldson also took fifth on bars (8.875) and seventh on floor (9.30). Mary Donna Sattervall (age 15, Wayzata) placed seventh on beam (9.225). Kiana Keith (age 12, Cokato) placed third on floor (9.30) in the 12 year old age division. Olivia Jahnke (age 12, Hanover) took third on floor (9.475). Makena Rasmussen (age 11, Independence) placed ninth on floor (9.325).

North Shore’s Level 6 team took second place with a team score of 109.175 and many individual placements. In the 10 & under group, Abby Menk (age 10, Delano) placed 10th all-around (34.75) and fifth on floor (9.325). Maya Loven (age 11, Medina) finished the season taking first place all-around with a score of 36.925. Loven also placed first on floor (9.60), first on beam (9.475), second on vault (8.90) and second on bars (8.95). Peyton Dickhausen (age 11, Delano) placed 10th an all-around (35.10) and fourth on beam (9.40). Anna Murley (age 11, Orono) took seventh on floor (9.15). Katherine Busch (age 12, Plymouth) placed sixth on floor (9.275). Brooke Hunsley (age 14, Albertville) took fourth place all around in the 13+ division with a score of 35.625 and took home the first place medal on floor (9.55). Samantha Poeschl (age 14, Plymouth) took the fifth place all around spot with a score of 35.575. Poeschl also placed fourth on floor (9.25). Jordan Janisch (age 13, Medina) placed fifth on beam (9.225) and seventh on floor (9.175).

Gymnasts Bartemio, Murray, along with teammates Sarah Ellingboe (age 15, Excellsior), Amanda Montplaisir (age 14, Buffalo)and Level 8 gymnasts Isabelle Schuster (age 17, Plymouth), Amanda Krampf (age 15, Delano), Kate Schmid (age 16, Plymouth) will all represent North Shore Gymnastics at the Regional competition in Green Bay, WI on April 9-12.
The North Shore Xcel Diamond Team took first place. Mara McCollor (age 14, Plymouth) took second place all around with a 36.200. McCollor placed first on bars (9.525) and 2nd on floor (9.350). Teammate Abigail Ylitalo (age 14, Plymouth) landed in third place all around (35.275) and took first place on floor (9.400) and vault (9.025).

The Xcel Platinum team also ended strong with a second place team finish (110.675). Peyton Uelmen (age 11, Minnetrista) took the all around win for 11-year-olds with a 37.100. Uelmen placed first on beam (9.475), second on floor (9.475), second on vault (9.150) and third on bars (9.000). Lily Sipprell (age 12, Minnetrista) finished third all around in the age 12 division with a score of 36.550. Sipprell took first on floor (9.425) second on beam (9.350) and eighth on vault (9.000). In the age 13 group, gymnast Alex Kline (age 13, Minnetrista) took third place all around with a 36.375. Kline also placed second on beam (9.350) and ninth on floor (9.075). Maddie Doshan (age 13, Mound) took second place on floor (9.275) and fourth on beam (9.150). Samantha Kline (age 13, Minnetrista) placed sixth on floor with a 9.225.

North Shore’s Xcel Gold team had many top 10 finishes including Gabriella Stoudt (age 10, Minnetrista) who took second place on vault with a 9.050. Teammate Gretta Ness (age 11, Independence) took fourth place all around with a 36.650. Ness placed first on floor (9.700) and sixth on bars (9.050). In the 12 year old session, Taylor Eberhardt (age 12, Orono) took third place on vault (9.000) and placed eighth all around with a 36.200. Teammate Emily Moore (age 13, Minnetrista) ended in sixth place all around in the 13 year old group with a 35.250. Moore also placed fifth on floor (9.325) and sixth on beam (9.100).

North Shore’s Xcel Silver team had a strong finish at State. Adia Patterson (age 8 Mound) placed eighth on beam (9.200) and Madelyn Wolff (age 12, Minnetonka Beach) took eighth place on bars with a 9.125.

All of the Xcel Gold, Platinum and Diamond Teams will compete again at Regionals in Coralville, Iowa April 17-19.
