Hilltop Primary School had 341 extra cars in the lot May 5, as 600 grandparents and special guests arrived to celebrate Grandfriends’ Day.

“Our day was awesome,” said Hilltop Principal Mike Moch. “We invited grandparents and special friends from every grade level to attend.”

The well-orchestrated schedule included grade-level vocal concerts, which showcased the talents of Hilltop students.

“[Hilltop music teacher Theresa] Schmidt, along with each grade, dazzled the ‘grandfriends’ with musical selections they have been learning all spring,” said Moch.

The “grandfriends” also had the opportunity to visit classrooms to complete crafts and to go on scavenger hunts throughout the school. To complete the day, a successful book fair was held in the media center.
